I am sad to announce the passing of Chief Dredd. Chief Dredd was our alliance VP and on Thursday evening the 30th he passed away following heart surgery.
I can not begin to express what Chief meant to DUSK. The dedication he put into the game and our little alliance. Chief enjoyed playing Eve as much as anyone else and we all looked forward to hearing that drawl come across ventrillo, and those wonderful euphemisms he would say. My last contact with him before the surgery he expressed how much he missed the players, and couldnÆt wait to get back on Eve again just for the camaraderie that developed over the time.
I have played Eve with Chief as part of it for the better part of 2 and half years going back to our time in Sylph when Drakmor ran it. Chief Dredd was always a voice of reason, honesty and fair play. One time when a number of pilots were throwing around the idea of going pirate as a direction it was Chief who brought everyone back to earth. He played the game a simple way was what he told us. He played it the only way he knew how which was how he lived his life, and the thought of doing something other than that he could not do. He however never stopped anyone for doing anything nor did he ever hold it against anyone if they had a pirate in them. He just decided that he personally had to play how he lived. There is nothing more that anyone can ever say about being a man than that.
ChiefÆs dedication and wisdom will be missed for a long time and unfortunately the game will never be the same for me or anyone else without him in it. We at Twilight Federation will always remember you Chief. Our condolences go out to Upeer her family for their loss is much greater than ours. Where we lost a friend or a mate or right hand man in a game of internet spaceships, they lost a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, and a Mentor.
Long live your spirit Chief. May you fly to Jove space and beyond straight and true blasters flashing and tank holding. We will miss you dearly

That would be. Short of naming an outpost after him I wouldn't even know about monuments. However a memorial may be a good idea.

I want to thank everyone for all of their kind words.
I know his wife Upeer has seen this post and she expressed gratitude for the posts here from everyone.
At our last Alliance General Meeting this past weekend the Alliance has voted to make a new holder corp for the Alliance called Chief Dredd's Moonshine Still in his memory. This way he will always be part of our alliance.
Again on behalf of DUSK I want to personally thank everyone for their words of kindness and sympathy to our loss
